Pokemon VGC 2009 Qualifiers - Phoenix
The third stop and the halfway marker for 2009's VGC is the stop in Phoenix, AZ. This stop, though with slightly more than 200 people that registered for the senior division, had no less of the intense competition that was seen in Fremont, CA. The strategies at this qualifier event seemed to feature less Trick Room but more strong "goodstuffs" teams, along with people even bringing teams that are supposed to do well against Trick Room teams. Once it had finished though, Paul (zerowing from smogon.com) was the victor in the senior division. His finals match is shown below:
