As I am sure you are aware by now(the fact that you're reading this),
we have a new design up.
Not everything has been transferred to the new design yet,
so there will definitely be some broken links and such.
Not to fear though, everything will be fixed and good to go in the near future;
just give me some time to get everything corrected.
If you do see anything that is wrong, send me an email at: webmaster@skarmbliss.com,
or post on our new forums!
Another thing that will be added is different VGC sections;
there will be one part dedicated to the VGC 2009 rules and then there will be a second section for the VGC 2010 rules.

HGSS release imminent; VGC slow time.
This is the part of the year where VGC information is slow and nothing is really going on.
The Japanese tournaments don't start for at least another month or two,
and the USA tournaments are several months in the future.
One bright spot is HG/SS' release in Japan.
A complete list of what move tutors are in the game and what pokemon can learn them can be found here.
We have a few ideas and projects getting looked at right now,
so when those come to light it will be posted ASAP. Hopefully you will enjoy them!

Worlds was amazing! World Champions for VGC crowned!
I went to the Pokemon World Championships as you know from August 13-15, 2009 in San Diego, CA.
It was simply amazing with all of the competitions that happened over such a short period of time.
The senior division VGC champion, Kazuyuki Tsuji from Japan,
was delcared the winner after three intense matches with the other finalist, Tasuku Mano, also of Japan.
When I have completed the San Diego page for the Pokemon VGC section,
I will embed the finals videos so you all can see the battles.
With the first round of the ATP coming to a close, we will probably put it on temporary hold
for a week or two to wait and see what special move tutors Pokemon HG/SS might bring to the table.
I am still debating whether to change all of the analyses to reflect how they might do in Ubers,
so I will let you know about that a little bit later.

Yes, the world championships for Pokemon are this weekend in San Diego, CA!
A few of our members will be present for this competition.
I will be there, taking pictures and videos of the finals and any other matches that I have the ability to record.
It should be a great time, and I will have plenty to report when I get back!

Worlds 09 and the ATP
Well, with Nationals in StL over for this year and Worlds in San Diego just about a month away,
not much for VGC will be happening until then.
If you feel the need to keep yourself busy in the meantime,
you should check out the Analysis Testing Project, or ATP, on the VGC Analysis board!
This project is dedicated to rewriting the pokemon analyses via actually testing them on our NetBattle Server.
The project has just started, so please go to the Analysis board and check out the thread.

The VGC National competition in St. Louis, MO, has just finished!
Well, the nationals for this year's VGC series has been completed in St. Louis, MO.
The method of play for Saturday's portion of the competition was Swiss style,
with all competitors playing five matches against people of similar record;
the top four competitors in each flight moved on to Sunday's portion and San Diego for the World Championships!
On Sunday morning, the method went back to Single Elimination, best 2 out of 3 games.
Mike Suleski, Omegadonut of Smogon, was the victor with imperfectluck, also of Smogon, coming in second.
I am madking a page for the nationals; check it out under the VGC 2009 page when it's finished.
Analyses are on the way, so look forward to that.

Big happenings!
Well, there are a few big things that are happening for the site! I'll list them.
1: We now have a Pokemon NetBattle Supremacy server!
There is an announcement on the forums about it that includes the information about how to connect, etc.
This allows us to test out all of our analyses and edit them to be as correct as possible.
I will try to get it up as much as I can.
2: We are adding more and more analyses for Pokemon!
Slowly but surely we are getting more analyses on the site.
It's going well, with almost all of the pokemon in our 'tier 1' goal achieving completion.
And as usual, the Pokemon VGC is in the thick of what is happening.
The stop near Philadelphia happens this Saturday, 6-6-09,
so look forward to a page about that in the showdown section of the site!

VGC is underway!
Yes indeed, the 2009 VGC is well underway, with three stops already being completed.
Those stops, Seattle, Fremont, and Phoenix, had some good battles and definitely some fierce competition.
I am going to be making a page for each of the stops that have happened and will happen,
so that if you are looking for specific information on a stop it will be easy to find.
I have also added some analyses of different pokemon.
I had been busy this past week or two, but now I am free
so I will definitely add some more analyses in the upcoming days and weeks.

POKEMON VGCS TOURNAMENT AND MORE ANALYSIS' ADDED!
Yes, we are hosting a tournament in preparation for this year's competitive battling scene!
More information is posted in the tournament forum. hopefully we can garner a lot of participants quickly!
I have updated with a lot analysis and a few site pages.
Namely I added Azelf and the Showdown 2009 page.
I am going through each pokemon and trying to create an analysis every day or two so that things don't become stale.
On the battling side of things, the first stop, Seattle, WA, is in one week(the 9th of May)!
Good luck to all those who are going!

Slow news time
This is a sort of dead time as fas as news is concerned.
We are making a few more analyses, including a popular goodstuffs pokemon named Gyarados.
Platinum has been released as you know and many people are making showdown teams.
Hopefully we will hear of some information on Video Game championship Series dates and locations soon.

PLATINUM VERSION IS OUT!
Yep, Pokemon Platinum version has been released today, March 22nd.
I have a feeling a lot of people will be playing it today, and with good reason.
Since this is the game the Pokemon VGCS will be running on, most people will want to get their teams ready.
I have reorganized the pokemon page as well as added a ton of analyses.
Latios, Kingdra, Cresselia, and more! Check it out.
