With solid defenses, attack, special attack, and its incredible amount HP, Giratina can serve as a great bulky mixed sweeper. Giratina fits in nicely into any team, it has several handy resistances and immunity to fighting and normal, and can soak up a ton of damage. Another thing that allows tina to stand out in 2010 VGC is its signature move shadow force: A 120 base physical move that makes giratina invulnerable for one turn AND it breaks through the move protect. |

Moveset ExplainationAs stated before, Shadow Force is Giratina's primary choice for attacking. Many of the bigger walls in ubers and VGC 10 are specially oriented, and will take big damage from shadow force. The invulnerability for a turn and ability to break protect make predicting very troublesome for the opponent. Dragon Claw is a solid STAB move that Giratina uses very well. Shadow Sneak is giratina's priority move, and makes him even more useful. The last slot is up to you: Safeguard is great on a lead Scarf Giratina to lay down the law on Smeargle and Dark void, and to protect your team from status in general. Will-o-Wisp is another good move that can be used over Safeguard if you want to hit Groudon or other physical attackers hard. |

NotesThe EV's are fairly obvious, and allow Giratina to do as much damage possible with Shadow Force. The hasty nature and speed EV's allow him to outspeed neutral base 90's, most notably: Modest Kyogre, Adamant Groudon, etc. Also outspeeds the occasional bulky Zapdos. It is also worthy to mention the use of griseous orb. This grants Giratina the ability levitate and swaps his Att with Def and Sp Att with Sp Def. Both Regular and origin formes work both will with this set, its mostly whether you prefer bulk or power, and if the held item restriction is too much of a problem. |
